The Grand Sancerrois Gîte is a large countryside house with a pool, accommodating up to 12 people, including children.
This 400m² country home is less than 15 minutes by car from Sancerre, Chavignol, and the Loire River. The location is very quiet. The house is ideal for families, groups of friends, business seminars, or romantic getaways. No overlooking neighbors.
POOL: 14 meters long by 6 meters wide, heated by solar panels (operational from April to October, depending on weather conditions). Equipped with an immersion alarm and partial fencing.
BEDROOMS: 6 suite-style bedrooms (each with its own toilet and shower and/or bathtub). 4 rooms with double beds, 2 rooms with twin beds.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Large living room. Fully equipped kitchen with oven and stovetop, microwave, kettle, drip coffee maker and espresso machine, 3 refrigerators with freezer compartments. 2 fireplaces (firewood not included, available as an extra). 1 large TV, various games, books, ping-pong table. Basement with a fully equipped bar. 2-hectare park with woods and a large lawn. Parking. Furnished terrace with table, chairs, and 2 barbecues. Deck chairs for the pool.
LOCATION: In the heart of France, near the Loire, surrounded by the famous wine regions of Sancerre and Pouilly, next to Chavignol and its renowned goat cheese.
GETTING HERE: 2 hours from Paris by car or train. Rolling hills, vineyards, and the Loire River less than 15 minutes away, with a well-known 18-hole golf course nearby.
ACTIVITIES: Wine tasting in picturesque wine villages, historic town of Sancerre, canoeing on the Loire, guided geological tour “Sancerre Jurassic Tour” in search of fossils, biking, horseback riding, tennis courts, visits to Loire castles... We can organize tasting tours and various other excursions on request.
HOUSE RULES (TO BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED):
1/. Towels and bath mats are not provided — please bring your own. We also do not supply shower gel, shampoo, toilet paper, or similar items, which are your responsibility. We only provide bed linens. For your arrival, we provide 1 bar of soap and 1 roll of toilet paper per bedroom. Any additional supplies are up to you.
2/. A check-in and check-out inspection will be conducted. Any damage will be immediately deducted from the security deposit.
3/. Due to past issues, a €60 extra cleaning fee will be charged in case of failure to meet one or more of the following hygiene, cleanliness, respect, or safety criteria: unemptied barbecue; fireplace not emptied; dishwasher left dirty and/or dishes not put away; furniture moved; trash not taken out; or bathrooms left in unacceptable condition.
4/. For safety reasons, only one fireplace may be used at a time. It is strictly forbidden to light a fire without placing the fireguard in front of the fireplace in use.
5/. Firewood is not provided. You are responsible for buying it (available at Carrefour in Saint-Satur), or we can provide a crate of split logs (approx. 10 logs) for €15 upon request made at least 15 days in advance.
6/. Cleaning is mandatory and non-negotiable, due to the size of the house (400m²). This does not exempt you from leaving the property in a clean and orderly state. (Cleaning is included in platform pricing and noted in direct contracts.)
7/. For weekend rentals, departure must be before 12:00 p.m. on Sunday. A late check-out at 3:00 p.m. is available for an extra €150. For weekly rentals, check-out is by 10:00 a.m. (Saturday to Saturday). Check-in is between 5:00 and 9:00 p.m. on Friday or Saturday, and at 6:00 p.m. on other days.
8/. Beds will be made before your arrival for a pleasant welcome. Please remove the sheets before your departure.
9/. The pool is open from May 15 to September 30, weather permitting. Swimming is allowed from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Pool access is strictly prohibited outside these hours. No compensation will be given if the pool must be closed due to weather. The pool is heated by solar panels (plastic tubing) that rely on sunlight, so heating depends on the level of sunshine.
11/. There are two houses on the property: the large house is rented, the smaller house is not and is reserved for the owners. The small house is not attached to the large one. The owners may be present during your stay. Please respect their privacy.
12/. It is strictly forbidden to bring more guests than agreed. This is a TERMINATION CLAUSE: if the owner or property manager observes any violation, you will be asked to leave immediately without refund.
13/. Outdoor noise, including music, is strictly prohibited. Although there are no direct neighbors, there are houses a few hundred meters away. If noise leads to police intervention, the owner cannot be held responsible.
14/. The boiler heats the radiators to 20°C. The thermostat automatically stops heating when this temperature is reached, so radiators may cool down — this is normal. If you light a fire in the fireplace, it may affect the thermostat, which will resume heating once the fire dies down.
15/. Fireworks are strictly prohibited.
16/. One trash bag is provided per bin. You are responsible for bringing more.
17/. Pets — even small ones — are strictly forbidden. This is a TERMINATION CLAUSE: if violated, you will be asked to leave immediately without refund.
18/. Please park your cars in the designated parking area. Do not park in the courtyard except to unload luggage.
